apdo-uk has been formed in response to the growing number of people working in the organising and decluttering business sector in the UK. It is a central resource for people to find an organiser and more information about the whole sector.

Why join us?

As a relatively new industry, we know that it is often difficult for potential clients to find a Professional Organiser. As an apdo-uk member, your listing on our Directory will increase traffic to your own website.

Membership will also provide you with the details of other professional declutterers and organisers in the UK. You will be able to exchange experiences and make an active contribution to the growth of the organising industry.

What do I get?

• Advertising: apdo-uk was initially set up as a one-stop-shop for clients to find a declutterer in their geographical area, and to help with their specific needs. We'll list your website, a brief description of your services, your location and the area(s) of the UK you cover in our Directory. Remember, too, that by reciprocal linking, each member can help others by improving our search engine ratings. We also use Google AdWords to attract more traffic.
• Media coverage: apdo-uk is frequently featured, either directly or through its members, in prominent publications. Click here for more details.
• Networking:  Members are required to join the apdo-uk Yahoo! Group. This is a closed group, membership by invitation only, for members to keep in touch and exchange information and views on our work in the UK decluttering industry.
• Advice & support: apdo-uk is not yet able to provide any official or legal advice. However, we are pleased to share our experiences! By joining the Yahoo! group, you will have access to all contributions; we're adding links to useful websites, both on this site and on the Yahoo! group; and as time goes by, we hope to become an authoritative source of information as you start or develop your business.
• Help us to develop our industry: This is only the beginning of our mission for apdo-uk. We plan to promote our services in the UK, helping all our members to grow their businesses.

How many regions can I be listed in?

Each business can choose one "home base" (the county, and therefore the region, in which you reside) and up to two "second bases" (adjacent regions that you are also able to cover). For example, a business based in London but also able to serve Essex will have London as their home base, and their entry will appear in the first table on the London Directory page; but they will also appear in the lower table on the Eastern page.

This gives prospective clients the chance to find businesses based outside, but accessible to, their region; this is especially useful in areas with fewer businesses for clients to choose from, or where clients require very specific services that may not otherwise be found closer to home.

What's required of me and my business?

All members are required to:

• Comply with our Code of Ethics.
• Join the apdo-uk Yahoo! group.
• Add a reciprocal link to your website (if you have one).
